A perfect starting point is the Apollo Cruiser Caravan 4 Berth (meaning it sleeps four people). Available to hire packaged with the appropriate towing vehicle (often a Nissan Patrol), it has an iPod dock/charger and a colour TV with DVD player to keep the kids busy on those long drives. Ample storage space means you don’t have to worry about forgetting anything before you leave – you bring the comforts of home with you in a caravan. Toilet, shower and gas burner stoves are easily accessible, and the fridge is an impressive 175 litres. Pack the kids into this Cruiser, and you’ll have a perfect holiday.
The Apollo Ranger Caravan is another 4 Berth caravan hire model, better suited to journeys with caravan park amenities along the way. While it may not have a toilet and shower, it’s the only caravan to have a house on top! This half-sized caravan folds out to an impressive size, with its two double beds suspended above it. All linen and bedding are, of course, included in the package, as well as a Nissan Patrol or similar towing vehicle. There’s also a DVD player and a comfortably sized awning for wet weather nights.
Lastly, if you want the cream of the caravan hire crop, look no further than the Apollo Explorer – a 6 Berth whopper, it boasts 3 double beds, a 150 litre fridge and freezer, colour TV and DVD player, and a bathroom with shower and toilet. It’s also fully heated and spacious enough for you and your friends and family to stretch out in. (While it does come with bedding, don’t forget to bring your own pillows along.)
