Travellers Auto Barn: A Big Piece Of The Low End

By Paul, posted on 18 December 2011

The range of campervans offered at Travelers Auto Barn suit practically everyone’s holiday budget. While campervans are generally 2 and 3 berth vans, motor homes can be hired from a third party. Their ‘chubby’ budget van comes with a Mitsubishi express base and is 3-4 years old.

It sleeps 2 and comes with a cold storage, food storage, kitchenette sink and cooking with the rear door up. It also comes with an iPod jack and CD player, and is cheap to rent. However there is no pop-top or hi top option available here.

Hi-Top

The Hi-Top is right for those looking for some more room and luxury. This campervan lets 1 person sleep ‘upstairs’ and 2, ‘downstairs’. Cooking facilities accommodate inside cooking and its kitchen comes with a fridge and microwave.

As this is a hi-top, you can stand upright in the vehicle. Moreover, this is a great option for longer trips, especially for taller people. However this very extra height causes the vehicle to drag, and reduces fuel economy and also makes it difficult to park the vehicle in undercover car parks.

Hi-Top Deluxe

The Hi-Top Deluxe is priced at about $60pd, and is a much newer vehicle than the normal Hi-Top. The vehicles have nicer fittings and upholstery while you find a slide out bench that pops out through the side door.

Design wise, it is similar to the hi-top range of vehicles; at the most, there are more lights, thicker cushions, carpeted ceiling and prettier laminates on cupboards. However, this Travelers Auto Barn vehicle is very expensive, and does not offer much fuel economy.
